Public transport

Visitors can get around the city easily by using public transport, with the main form of public transportation being buses. LLT (Luleå Lokaltrafik) is Luleå’s public transport service with a well established map of the city. Click here to view the route map.

Local bus from the airport
For many incoming flights, there is a local bus from Luleå Airport to Luleå Central (Smedjegatan, bus no. 4 & 104) which run approx. every 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased onboard. Please note that this option involves a short walk to the suggested hotels below.

Right of public access: Swedish law allows use of the ‘right of public access’ known as the ‘freedom to roam’. You have the right to walk, cycle, ride, skin and camp on any land (except near dwellings, private gardens, or land under cultivation). It does, however, require that care and consideration is shown to wildlife, landowners, and other users. Do not disturb – do not destroy.
